…Based on the model of the Un-Conference, we developed a 36 hour professional development workshop called Dis-Orientation.
The intent is to encourage and inspire educators to reclaim the collaborative, creative process of learning for themselves and their students by disorienting them. This may require some “un-schooling.” To accomplish this, participants will connect in meaningful ways with other teachers to reflect upon their work and rethink their approaches to teaching.
Key Activity: have educators work together to hack the parts of their work that they find the least engaging or boring.
Much of the sharing will take on the form of 6 word memoirs or explanations or quick pitches of “million dollar ideas” to add a tone of fast and fun…
